Police reports indicate the vehicle was hijacked in Benoni, with the Uber driver abducted during the incident.

The driver is now safe and filing an official complaint in Ekurhuleni.

Prosecutor Tshepo Mahange kaMzizi revealed charges against the four suspects, including robbery with aggravating circumstances, kidnapping, and assault.

An identity parade and further investigations are scheduled before their bail hearing on January 17.

Magistrate Johan Herman ordered the suspects’ identities withheld until their second court appearance, aligning with legal and investigative protocols.

The case has drawn significant attention due to its connection to the Mandela family and the alarming misuse of the late statesman’s former residence.
