The founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministry, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, has openly criticised outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo for what he described as poor management of Ghana’s economy.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Prophet Kumchacha did not hold back in expressing his dissatisfaction with the outgoing administration.
“We all can attest to the bad governance that Nana Akufo-Addo brought to the nation. The whole world knows Nana Akufo-Addo was the worst president Ghana ever had,” he stated.

According to the outspoken preacher, Akufo-Addo’s leadership had been detrimental to the country’s development.
He described the transition of power as a significant moment, expressing relief that the president’s tenure had ended. “Today marks his final days in office and the new beginning of good and better governance. That is why I’m here,” Kumchacha declared.
Prophet Kumchacha also referred to the day’s event—the swearing-in of John Mahama—as historic.
He further criticised the former president, labelling him as the nation’s “greatest enemy.” “When we say go and look for the enemy and you meet Akufo-Addo, he’s the enemy,” he added.
The controversial preacher went on to lambast Akufo-Addo’s priorities, singling out the $58 million National Cathedral project, which he claimed had turned into a “swimming pool.” He described the initiative as a waste of national resources.
