President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Ghanaians for the opportunity to lead the nation over the past eight years.

Delivering his final Christmas message as president on December 24, 2024, Akufo-Addo described his tenure as the greatest honour of his life, reflecting on the privilege and responsibility of serving in the nation’s highest office.

“As I approach the conclusion of my tenure as your president, I want to speak from the heart and say, thank you. Serving as the leader of our beloved country has been the greatest honour of my life,” he stated.

President Akufo-Addo highlighted the importance of leadership and the collective efforts that brought about notable progress during his administration.

He praised the resilience of Ghanaians, which he said was pivotal to achieving shared goals.

“Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones. We have expanded access to education, strengthened the healthcare system, invested in infrastructure, revitalised agriculture, accelerated the industrial transformation of the economy, and worked tirelessly to secure a brighter future for our children,” he added.

The outgoing president emphasised the collaborative spirit that drove these accomplishments, urging Ghanaians to continue fostering unity and a shared vision for the nation’s development.

As he prepares to leave office, Akufo-Addo’s message underscored his enduring commitment to Ghana and his hope for sustained progress.
