Mustapha Gbande calls on supporters to stop seizing or destroying government assets
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has cautioned its supporters against unlawfully seizing or destroying state assets allegedly misappropriated by New Patriotic Party (NPP) members.
Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande, in a statement on December 11, urged calm and lawful action, advising that suspected cases of theft or mismanagement be reported to the police for proper investigation.
He stressed that NPP officials should not be obstructed in their duties during the transition period and called for respect for due process.
Gbande warned against invading government offices or seizing items such as relief materials, fixtures, and consumables, noting that such actions would amount to theft.
He also urged vigilance regarding post-election recruitments, asking supporters to channel concerns through party executives.
The directive aims to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition of power.

Good morning.
Att: organisers and youth organisers at regional and constituency levels, security coordinators.
Please ensure immediate implementation of the above directives in a strict order with immediate effect.
1. Outgoing government appointees and NPP party supporters stealing and attempting to move or hide government properties: You are to organise and make official complaints to the police to effect an arrest and ensure such properties are retrieved by the police, whereas we ensure they are not released until a new government takes over fully.
2. Post-elections recruitment: Wherever this is happening, kindly report to constituency chairmen and regional chairmen, who will take appropriate measures to report the same to the transition team for further directives and action.
3. Npp faithful found to be possessing government assets: report them to the police and ensure he or she provides a basis for the possession, or the police should impound the same until further investigations.
4. Government appointees/NPP officials working or possessing government assets: these individuals should be left untouched until the transition is over because a government is still in place, and as such, officials should be left to perform their normal duties until a new government takes over irrespective of their party affiliation.
5. Entry into government offices and premises without a cause other than looking for jobs: let’s ensure our youths do not invade any functioning government property to disrupt normal business or cause disturbance for any reason until the transition is over.
6. Ensure that no one ceases government assets, particularly consumables, fixtures, relief items, etc., without reporting to the police; that will amount to stealing.
7. No one must issue instructions for invasion without the consent of party structures: regional organisers/youth at the regional level and constituency organisers/youth at the constituency level.
8. Consult with pcs and mps on this matter before taking action when necessary.
