The spokesperson for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has claimed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is already losing the 2024 general election.
According to Aboagye, the polling stations have already determined the election results, and each political party has received copies of the pink sheets.
“Every political party has copies of the pink sheet; they know it; they know very well they are losing this election, and that is why they will call for havoc,” he asserted.
His comments came shortly after the NDC held a press conference urging its supporters to head to collation centres across the country, advising them to remain calm and vigilant and avoid early celebrations of election results.
Mr. Aboagye expressed confidence that the NPP would emerge victorious following the Electoral Commission’s final declaration of the results. He refuted the NDC’s allegations regarding the NPP’s potential to rig the election.
He drew a parallel between the current situation and the biblical story of two women who took a dispute over a lost child to King Solomon for judgement.
“That is exactly what the NDC is doing. They know they’ve lost; they know they are nowhere near victory in this election, and that is why they will irresponsibly call on their supporters to move towards the collation centres to disrupt the collation process,” he lamented.
Mr. Aboagye further challenged the NDC to explain why they were instructing their supporters to move to the collation centres if they truly believed they were on track for victory.
“Why would any political party that is very, very clear in its mind that it has won this election want to disrupt these electoral processes? We will not allow that,” he said.
In response to the NDC’s call for supporters to assist in protecting the collation centres, Aboagye urged the NPP’s supporters to do the same, asking them to help the police safeguard the EC’s operations.
