The Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects in connection with a viral TikTok video in which a female voice is heard allegedly threatening to kill President John Mahama before the end of 2025 and behead First Lady Lordina Mahama.
The police, in a statement on Tuesday, August 12, said the suspects—identified as Prince Ofori and Yayra Abiwu—are currently in custody and assisting with investigations into the threats against the President and his family.
The disturbing video, which has been widely shared on social media, contains explicit threats delivered in the Twi language.
According to the police, a full-scale investigation is underway to track down other individuals believed to be linked to the video. They assured the public that all suspects would be brought to justice.
The Police Service has urged citizens to remain calm and allow the investigative process to proceed without interference.
