VIAVI Solutions Inc has announced a strategic partnership with CrowdStrike to integrate the VIAVI Observer network observability platform with CrowdStrike Falcon® Next-Gen SIEM, in a move designed to give enterprises deeper visibility across IT and security operations.
The collaboration aims to accelerate the shift toward converged network and security operations (NetSecOps), combining VIAVI’s network performance intelligence with CrowdStrike’s AI-driven threat detection and industry-leading cybersecurity expertise.
According to the newly released VIAVI’s 2025/2026 State of the Network Study, a vast majority of organisations (79%) are in the process of moving from siloed IT and security management to integrated NetSecOps frameworks. However, only 27% have fully completed the transition, highlighting a significant operational gap.
The VIAVI–CrowdStrike partnership is expected to help close this gap by delivering end-user experience insights, high-fidelity forensic data, and AI-powered threat intelligence into a unified observability and security platform.
The Observer platform collects and retains granular forensic data, providing organisations with greater context on how security incidents affect mission-critical business services. This capability, integrated with Falcon Next-Gen SIEM, enables customers to correlate performance management with cybersecurity, enhancing both detection speed and operational resilience.
“As data volumes increase, many vendors have adopted a metadata-based approach to NetSecOps. Beyond extensive use of metadata, VIAVI also provides high-fidelity forensic data with long-term packet capture and enriched flows,” said Chris Labac, Vice President and General Manager, Network Performance Management and Threat Solutions at VIAVI. “This approach gives a deeper and more accurate understanding of network events compared to what can be achieved with metadata alone.”
CrowdStrike’s Falcon Next-Gen SIEM has been positioned as the core of the modern Security Operations Center (SOC), designed to unify enterprise security ecosystems with real-time data, native threat intelligence, and AI-powered detection and response.
“Falcon Next-Gen SIEM is the engine of the modern SOC, unifying customers’ broader security ecosystem with CrowdStrike’s first-party data, native threat intelligence, and AI-powered threat detection and response,” said Michael Rogers, Vice President of Global Alliances at CrowdStrike.
Rogers further noted that CrowdStrike’s recently announced plan to acquire Onum, a real-time data pipeline platform, will bolster Falcon Next-Gen SIEM by filtering and enriching data before it enters the system. “By integrating the VIAVI Observer platform with Falcon Next-Gen SIEM, we’re helping organisations unify NetOps and SecOps – delivering true convergence, faster detection and response, and the visibility they need to operate with speed, resilience, and confidence,” he added.
