Standard Chartered Ghana CEO Mansa Nettey Crowned 2024 CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year

The 36th Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) National Marketing Performance Awards spotlighted Ghana’s brightest marketing leaders on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, with Standard Chartered Bank Ghana’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Mansa Nettey, taking home the prestigious title of 2024 CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year.

Mrs Nettey, the first female CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, was recognised for her exceptional leadership, innovation, and transformative impact on the financial sector. Her career, spanning nearly two decades in banking, has been marked by groundbreaking strategies that strengthened Ghana’s financial markets and advanced financial inclusion.

Joining her among the night’s top honourees was Dr James Orleans-Lindsay, Executive Chairman of JL Holdings, who was named 2024 CIMG Marketing Man of the Year.

The awards, held under the theme “Repositioning Brand Ghana: Marketing for Economic Growth and Transformation”, celebrated individuals and organisations that have elevated marketing as a driver of economic progress.

Mansa Nettey’s leadership journey is as inspirational as it is groundbreaking. A trailblazer in the corporate world, she has served in critical roles, including Head of Foreign Exchange Sales for West Africa and Head of Financial Markets in Ghana. Her current role as CEO, coupled with her board positions in both Ghana and Nigeria, highlights her regional influence in shaping financial services.

Her academic foundation — a pharmacy degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a master’s from Manchester Business School — underscores her unique blend of scientific discipline and business strategy.

Beyond corporate success, Mrs Nettey’s resilience shines through her personal story. As a leukaemia survivor, she founded the Leukaemia Project Foundation to raise awareness and support for patients, cementing her legacy as both a leader and humanitarian.

Her recognition at the 2025 CIMG Awards adds to a growing list of accolades, including being named among Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government and ranking in the Top 100 Ghanaian Women Board Directors.

By honouring her with the 2024 Marketing Woman of the Year title, CIMG not only celebrates her achievements but also signals the importance of visionary leadership in shaping Brand Ghana. Her story serves as an inspiration for women across Africa, proving that resilience, innovation, and purpose-driven leadership can transform both industries and lives.
