Spotify has announced updates to its Terms of Use, set to take effect on September 26, 2025, for existing users.
The company says the changes are intended to provide greater clarity around user rights, billing, subscriptions, and content policies.
According to Spotify, the updated terms emphasise that subscribers may only access the version of the streaming service available in their country of residence, at the price applicable to that region. The platform has also clarified how subscription billing is handled and how users may cancel their subscriptions.
The new terms further explain the ways in which content can be posted or shared on Spotify, as well as the company’s approach to content policies and personalised recommendations. For easier navigation, the update includes direct links to key user policies and guidelines.
“By continuing to use Spotify, users automatically accept the updated terms,” the company stated, adding that no further action is required from subscribers.
Spotify says the update aims to ensure transparency and improve user understanding of how the platform operates as it continues to expand its global offerings.
