Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has challenged former President Akufo-Addo’s widely publicised claim of constructing over 10,000 kilometres of roads during his tenure.
Speaking at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, July 30, during the Government Accountability Series, Agbodza revealed that a nationwide inspection conducted since he took office found no evidence to support the former president’s figures.
“What I saw was that the over 10,000km of roads former President Akufo-Addo claimed he had constructed cannot be found. In fact, not even 1,000 kilometres of good road were seen,” he stated.
He said his ministry will rely on transparent, data-driven tracking to ensure delivery and accountability in future road infrastructure development.
