The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended six of its constituency executives in the Pusiga Constituency, directing them to appear before the regional disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities.
A letter dated February 20, 2025, and signed by Upper East Regional NPP Chairman, Anthony Namoo, Esq., confirmed the suspension, instructing the affected members to step aside while investigations proceed.
The suspended executives include:
- Awinimi Emmanuel—Constituency Communication Officer
- Belingumse Sawuda—2nd Vice Chairman
- Haruna Salam—Assistant Secretary
- Kazussah Jacob—Treasurer
- Salifu Ibn Adam—Elections and Research Officer
- Iddrisu Kadiri—Deputy Nasara Coordinator
Speaking to Citi News, Awinimi Emmanuel expressed surprise at the decision, stating that he had not been informed of any wrongdoing.
“When I opened the letter, they said they had suspended me as Communication Officer of the party in the constituency, and the Regional Disciplinary Committee will invite me. I said okay. So I took my letter. That is all I can say,” he stated.
The party has yet to disclose the specific allegations against the executives, but their fate will be determined after appearing before the disciplinary committee.
