Nollywood Veteran Tom Njemanze Dies at 75

Veteran Nollywood actor Tom Njemanze has died at the age of 75 following a prolonged battle with prostate cancer.

The celebrated actor passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, after months of deteriorating health, TVC News reported.

Although he had been bedridden for some time, family members and close friends had remained hopeful about his recovery. His family chose to keep the news of his passing private initially.

Njemanze rose to fame in the 1990s and became a beloved figure in the Nigerian film industry for his captivating performances in several Nollywood classics. His filmography includes notable titles such as Tokunboh, Pounds and Dollars, Atosa, Issakaba, Osuofia in London, Brain Box, and Igbotic Love.

Over the years, Njemanze earned a reputation as a skilled and versatile actor who could deliver both comedic and dramatic roles with equal depth. His contributions to the growth of Nollywood during its golden era cemented his status as one of the industry’s enduring icons.
