The District Pastor for Mpoasei Church of Pentecost in the Dansoman Area, John Gilbert Ayamah has sparked conversation with a blunt declaration about the fallen nature of humanity, describing people as inherently ungrateful and wicked, saying in Twi, “Nipa yɛ f**kin.”
Speaking during a Sunday sermon, the pastor clarified that his controversial choice of words was not intended to offend but to highlight the profound moral decay of humankind since the fall of Adam.
He said the depravity of the human heart has been evident throughout history, and only the grace of God has made redemption possible.
“Man fell from grace in the beginning,” he explained. “And since then, human beings have not been good. But it is the mercy of God that polishes us and brings us into His glorious light.”
He described the world as one filled with betrayal, selfishness, and cruelty, emphasising that even within the church, these negative traits are often present.
“The wickedness in man cannot be measured. It only takes God’s saving power to transform us,” he added.
The pastor called on Christians to live lives that reflect the love and compassion of Christ.
He urged congregants to show kindness to their neighbours and live in a way that draws others to God’s mercy.
“We are called to love as Christ loved us. Be good to one another, forgive, and help those in need. That is how we win souls and shine God’s light,” he said. “Remember, God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
