England striker Michelle Agyemang has been crowned Euro 2025’s Young Player of the Tournament, capping off a breakout campaign despite limited game time.
The 19-year-old Arsenal forward featured for just 138 minutes across the competition in Switzerland and did not start a single match. Yet her impact proved decisive as she delivered clutch equalising goals in both the quarter-final against Sweden and the semi-final against Italy, helping the Lionesses reach the final.
Agyemang’s heroics were instrumental in England’s successful title defence, which culminated in a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Spain in Basel.
Spain’s midfield maestro and reigning Ballon d’Or winner, Aitana Bonmati, was named Player of the Tournament. Despite battling back from a bout of viral meningitis that kept her out of the starting lineup early on, Bonmati found top form—scoring the semi-final winner against Germany and driving Spain’s run to the final.
Spanish striker Esther Gonzalez finished as the tournament’s top scorer, netting four goals in six matches, further cementing Spain’s status as a powerhouse in women’s football.
The Euro 2025 tournament showcased emerging talents and seasoned stars alike, with Agyemang’s rise providing England fans with plenty to be excited about ahead of future competitions.
