Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of promising defensive midfielder Lord Hilary Adabo on a three-year deal from FC Samartex as part of the club’s efforts to reinforce their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The 21-year-old, who has garnered over 60 top-flight appearances with Samartex and Real Tamale United, brings valuable experience and tactical discipline to the Porcupine Warriors’ midfield. Known for his composure on the ball and intelligent positioning, Adabo is expected to add solidity and depth to Kotoko’s engine room.
In his first interview with Kotoko Media, Adabo revealed that while there were multiple offers on the table—including some from overseas—he chose Kotoko for its stature and the development opportunities it presents.
“There were a few offers, including some from outside,” he confirmed.
“But I believe playing for Asante Kotoko puts me in the best place to grow and earn a call-up to the Black Stars. This is a big step for me, and I’m confident it’s the right one for my career.”
Kotoko’s technical team views Adabo’s signing as a strategic move to enhance the club’s midfield stability and improve their competitiveness in the upcoming season. His arrival follows that of winger Philip Amoh, underscoring the club’s intent to build a balanced and dynamic squad.
Adabo will join his new teammates in preseason training as Kotoko ramps up preparations for a title-chasing campaign.
