The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has made significant command changes within the Ghana Police Service, reconstituting the Police Management Board with 31 senior officers.
The reshuffle, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and effective management, includes key appointments such as COP/Mrs. Maame Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah as Director-General/R&P and COP/Mr. Paul Manly Awini overseeing the Service Workshop in Accra.
This development was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs.
The newly restructured Police Management Board features a mix of top-ranking officials, including:
- COP/Mrs. Maame Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah – Director-General/R&P
- COP/Mr Paul Manly Awini – Service Workshop, Accra
- COP/Mr Daniel Kwame Afriyie – Director-General/PSO
- COP/Dr. Ernest Kwabena Owusu – Director-General/SVCS
- COP/Mr Mohammed Fuseini Suraji – Director-General/NPD
- COP/Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba – Director-General/Technical
- COP/Mr Michael Nketia Frempong – Director-General/Finance
- COP/Mr Asumadu Okyere Darko – Director-General/PPSB
- COP/Mr Iddi Lansah Seidu – Director-General/Welfare
- COP/Mrs Faustina A.K. Andoh-Kwofie – Commandant/GPCSC, Winneba
Other high-ranking appointments include:
- DCOP/Dr David Agyeman Adjem as Director-General of Administration
- DCOP/Ms Lydia Yaako Donkor as Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)
- DCOP/Mr Vance Gariba as Director-General of Operations
- DCOP/Mr Gabriel Prince Waabu as Director-General of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD)
Several regional commanders have also been reassigned, including ACP/Mr Wisdom Akorli (Volta Region), ACP/Mr Joshua Coppson (VNR), ACP/Mr Wisdom Lavoe (NR), and DCOP/Mr Francis Kwame Tsidi (Western Region).
The reshuffle is expected to strengthen the command structure and improve policing strategies across the country.
