President John Dramani Mahama has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, hailing him as a musical genius whose legacy will endure for generations.
In a solemn tribute, the former president described Lumba’s influence as both personal and national, noting that his “unmatched musical genius provided the soundtrack to our lives, carrying us through various phases of life.”
“The beats to his memorable songs may have died down, but his enduring legacy will echo through the ages,” Mahama stated.
President Mahama’s remarks come as the nation reels from the loss of one of its most celebrated musicians. For decades, Daddy Lumba captivated audiences with his soulful voice, lyrical depth, and iconic stagecraft—becoming a cultural force in Ghanaian music and beyond.
On behalf of the state, the former president extended his “heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones for this irreplaceable loss.”
