In a bold move to enhance digital access, the government has secured a special Independence Day data bundle, significantly increasing internet connectivity for Ghanaians at an affordable price.
Hon. Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, announced via his Facebook post on March 6, 2025, that under the directives of President John Dramani Mahama, all three major telecom providers—MTN Ghana, Telecel Ghana, and AT Ghana—have agreed to introduce an exclusive Independence Day offer.
The package provides 6GB of data for just GHS10, a dramatic increase from the usual 1GB or the occasional 3GB holiday promotions for the same price.
“This highlights our commitment as a government to build the enablers for a truly digitalised Ghana that offers the vast opportunities of the interconnected world to Ghanaians right in the comfort of their homes,” Hon. Nartey George stated.
The discounted bundle, aimed at making internet access more affordable and inclusive, will be available for purchase starting March 6 and will remain valid for three days after activation.
The minister also revealed that on March 7, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations will unveil a roadmap outlining short, medium, and long-term strategies to ensure a sustained reduction in data prices across the country.
This initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of driving digital inclusion and positioning Ghana as a leader in affordable internet accessibility, reinforcing its commitment to a fully digitalised economy.
