The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced the detection of 18 new mpox infections, raising the country’s total confirmed cases to 346.
In its latest update, the GHS confirmed that the national death toll remains at one, with no additional fatalities recorded. Officials also indicated that there are no current hospital admissions linked to the disease.
The last situational report, issued on August 7, 2025, reiterated calls for heightened public vigilance. The health authority urged Ghanaians to avoid direct contact with individuals exhibiting symptoms of mpox — such as rashes, fever, swollen lymph nodes, and muscle aches — and to promptly report any suspected cases to the nearest health facility.
“The Ghana Health Service continues to work closely with its regional health directorates to trace contacts, enhance surveillance, and coordinate the national response to the outbreak,” the statement read.
