The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially declared Friday, 7th March 2025, a holiday for all schoolchildren across the country, granting them a well-deserved break following their rigorous preparations for Ghana’s 68th Independence Day celebrations.
In a statement released by the GES, the decision was made to allow students to rest after their active participation in various Independence Day activities. The service further confirmed that schools will resume normal academic activities on Monday, 10th March 2025.
Parents and guardians have been advised to take note of the schedule adjustment and make necessary arrangements for their wards during the break.
The GES also extended its apologies for any inconvenience the short holiday might cause, emphasising that it is a necessary step to ensure students recuperate after their demanding engagements in the national celebrations.
This announcement follows the vibrant Independence Day festivities, during which students played a significant role in parades, cultural displays, and other commemorative activities nationwide. The break aims to enhance their well-being and prepare them for the academic work ahead.
