Foreign Affairs Ministry Honours Four Veteran Diplomats for Distinguished Servicey

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has honoured four veteran diplomats for their outstanding contributions to Ghana’s diplomacy and international relations.

At a special ceremony held in Accra last Friday, Dr Obed Asamoah, Ambassador James Victor Gbeho, Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas, and Ambassador Chris Kpodo were celebrated for their decades of service in shaping Ghana’s foreign policy and strengthening the nation’s voice on the world stage.

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa hailed the honourees as “diplomatic giants” whose wisdom and service remain relevant to Ghana’s present and future.

“Their legacy and wisdom will not be discarded or discounted,” he stressed.

The Honourees

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah praised the four statesmen for elevating Ghana’s image as a credible and respected global actor. He noted that their achievements laid the foundation for Ghana’s current focus on economic diplomacy aimed at attracting investment, jobs, and technology.

The event, attended by senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and young Foreign Service officers, ended with a call for the next generation of diplomats to emulate the dedication and excellence of the honourees.
