Ford Transit Catches Fire On Techiman–Sunyani Road

A Ford Transit vehicle, with registration number BA-641-23, was completely engulfed in flames early Sunday, September 14, at Faaman along the busy Techiman–Sunyani road in the Bono East Region.

According to a statement posted by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Facebook, the Techiman Fire Station received a distress call at 12:03 hours.

A crew of six firefighters, led by Lead Fireman Joseph Awuni, was quickly dispatched to the scene. The team reportedly arrived within minutes and managed to bring the inferno under control, preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby areas or endangering other motorists.

Although the Ford Transit sustained extensive damage and was reduced to a charred shell, officials confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were recorded during the incident.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but the GNFS assured the public that investigations are underway.

The GNFS used the incident to remind vehicle owners and drivers to ensure regular maintenance checks and to keep functional fire extinguishers in their vehicles to reduce risks associated with sudden fires.
