A fierce blaze on the evening of August 13, 2025, reduced five structures to ashes at Nogora Junction near Ho Technical University, including a popular pub and food joint, leaving behind significant property losses but no injuries.
The incident, which occurred around 5:20 p.m., also consumed four other containers housing a boutique and several shops. According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the fire was reported at 5:46 p.m., prompting a rapid response from the Ho Municipal Fire Station.
Led by STNO II Michael Segbedzi, firefighters arrived at the scene within four minutes, quickly initiating efforts to contain the blaze and prevent its spread to nearby buildings. The team was later reinforced by personnel from the Regional Headquarters under the supervision of Ho Municipal Fire Commander, DO II Tay Seth.
Through coordinated firefighting efforts, the inferno was brought under control by 7:15 p.m. and fully extinguished by 7:45 p.m., safeguarding adjacent properties from damage.
Authorities say investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire, which has left affected business owners counting their losses.
