EOCO Denies Springfield Energy CEO’s Arrest, Confirms Two Active Investigations

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has denied claims circulating on social media and published by Norvanreport.com that Mr Kevin Okyere, the Chief Executive Officer of Springfield Energy, has been arrested or detained in Dubai over an alleged fraud case.

In a statement issued on Sunday, November 2, 2025, EOCO described the report as false, misleading, and devoid of merit, urging the public to disregard it entirely.

According to the anti-graft agency, there are two ongoing investigations involving Springfield Energy—one arising from a petition against the company and another related to an ongoing case between Springfield Energy and the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST).

“It is the policy directive of EOCO’s leadership that investigations must precede arrest and not the reverse,” the statement clarified. “The case involving BOST and Springfield Energy is a priority due to its potential impact on national finances and the economy.”

EOCO expressed disappointment in the online publication, stressing that responsible journalism requires verification before publication.

“Though EOCO does not comment on active investigations, it is regrettable that Norvanreport.com did not seek clarification before running such a false and damaging story,” the agency stated.

The Office reaffirmed its commitment to fairness, professionalism, and integrity, assuring the public that it remains focused on pursuing all economic and organised crime cases without fear or favour.

EOCO further warned against the spread of fake news, adding that misinformation could undermine public trust and disrupt ongoing investigations.

“EOCO is actively working on not one, but two investigations involving Springfield Energy. The public is advised to disregard the false publication and rely on official statements from the Office,” it concluded.
