Diplomatic Envoy Globalization has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of eight lives—including two serving ministers—following Wednesday’s fatal military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region.
In a solemn statement, Secretary General Samuel Aryeequaye extended condolences to the government and people of Ghana, describing the deaths as “a national tragedy that has robbed the nation of committed leaders who served with integrity, vision, and unwavering dedication to Ghana’s development.”
The Ghana Armed Forces Z‑9 helicopter departed Accra at approximately 9:12 a.m. on August 6, 2025, bound for Obuasi, but went missing and later crashed in the Adansi Akrofuom/Brofeyedu district. The aircraft was engulfed in flames and burnt beyond recognition, leaving no survivors.
Among the deceased were Minister for Defence Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, former Minister for Food and Agriculture and NDC Vice Chair Dr. Samuel Sarpong, former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, Squadron Leader Peter Anala, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo.
“To the bereaved families of the late ministers and all other victims, we extend our deepest sympathies,” Mr. Aryeequaye said. “We honor your loved ones’ legacy and the impactful services they rendered to Ghana. To the government and all citizens, please be assured that Diplomatic Envoy Globalization stands in solidarity with Ghana. We offer our moral support, any appropriate assistance within our capacity, and unwavering unity during this painful time.”
The organization called for national strength and unity in the wake of the devastating loss and prayed for the departed souls to rest in perfect peace.
