The family of late highlife legend Charles Kojo Fosu, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba, has officially opened a book of condolence in his honour following his passing on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
In a statement issued by Baba Jamal & Associates on behalf of the bereaved family, the condolence book is now available for signing at the musician’s private residence located at House Number 12, Kinshasha Crescent, GA 332-9264, East Legon, Accra. The public is welcome to pay their respects daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The statement also announced that a candlelight vigil will be held in memory of the iconic artist on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Independence Square, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Daddy Lumba, who passed away at the age of 60 while undergoing treatment at the Bank Hospital in Accra, was one of Ghana’s most celebrated and influential musicians, with a career spanning more than three decades. He was revered for his unmatched lyrical style, musical innovation, and deep cultural resonance.
Since news of his death broke, an outpouring of grief and tributes has flooded in from across Ghana and the diaspora. Fans, musicians, politicians, and industry stakeholders have hailed his contribution to Ghanaian music, with many calling for his legacy to be immortalised.
