Cocaine Flight Scandal: Ntim Fordjour Demands Probe into Alleged Diplomatic Smuggling Operations

Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has dropped bombshell claims linking Ghana’s airspace to cocaine trafficking and money laundering operations—allegedly facilitated through flights with diplomatic clearance.

Appearing on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana with Paul Adom-Otchere, the Assin South MP challenged recent denials issued by Government Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu, insisting that the denials are part of a deliberate misinformation campaign.

“It is not mere speculation. The records exist, and the relevant authorities are aware,” Fordjour claimed, adding that certain flights were deliberately allowed to bypass routine security checks under the guise of diplomatic privilege.

According to Fordjour, flights granted diplomatic immunity often escape inspection, making them an ideal tool for criminal syndicates to traffic drugs and illicit cash.

“When security protocols are bypassed under diplomatic privilege, it creates the perfect cover for criminal networks to operate,” he stated.

He emphasised that some of these flights followed suspicious patterns, which should have raised red flags for security agencies.

He stressed that protecting Ghana’s national security and international reputation should take precedence over political expediency.

“This is a matter of national integrity. We cannot turn a blind eye simply because it is politically inconvenient,” he said.
