Chief of Staff Summons Sammy Gyamfi Over Dollar Gift to Nana Agradaa

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, has been summoned by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah following the circulation of a viral video showing him handing cash—reportedly in US dollars—to controversial evangelist and former fetish priestess Patricia Oduro Koranteng, widely known as Nana Agradaa.

Sources at the Jubilee House confirmed to Puretvonline.com that Gyamfi has been asked to clarify the circumstances surrounding the transaction, which has provoked widespread public backlash and raised concerns about ethical standards in public office.

The incident comes at a delicate time for the Mahama administration, which recently launched a Code of Conduct for Public Officials promoting integrity, accountability, and transparency in governance. Critics argue that the video undermines these efforts and risks damaging public confidence in President Mahama’s anti-corruption agenda.

In an attempt to defuse the controversy, Gyamfi issued a public apology on Sunday, May 11, describing the cash handover as a private gesture of goodwill with no political or unethical intent.

“This was never meant for public attention. It was simply an act of kindness,” Gyamfi stated.

Despite the apology, insiders say the Chief of Staff is treating the matter as urgent, given the potential political fallout and reputational risks it poses to the administration.

The Office of the President has yet to release an official statement on the outcome of Gyamfi’s meeting.
